I have been playing with sprang lace patterns, which has resulted in a sprang top! I am very happy with this new top.
Some years ago I have tested a lot of sprang lace patterns for Carol James and I have learned a lot from it. One of the great benefits from this is that I am now able to combine patterns and twist them a bit, so that I can make my own design out of this.
Nevertheless this was a big adventure for me, because this is my first sprang top. I did make a sample before, with a bit a different design, so that I could make a rough calculation. It turned out really well.
I started with 120 loops and about 120 cm. When there was about 38,5 cm warp left unworked, I started dividing the warp in 2 parts.
I made a seperate hem in the basic stitch.
To avoid too much curling at the neck and shoulders, I made cords with the knitting fork, which I have sewn at the edges.
